Next Meeting: March 31st – Lockpicking

Due to complications, the lockpicking seminar will now take place on Thursday the 31st of March at 6:30pm. There will be food available for those who attend and demonstrations on lockpicking and the laws and restrictions that surround the profession of locksmithing.

I hope to see everyone there!

Upcoming Meetings

For those of you who were at the meeting on the 8th, none of this will be new to you. For everyone else, here are the next two meetings that we have planned.

Thursday March 24th, 6:30pm

Presentation by professional Locksmith John Seitz discussing the laws surrounding the industry, demonstrations and Q&A session

Monday April 4th, 5:30pm

Presentation on Wifi Cracking. Everyone will have the opportunity to try their hand at hacking a wifi access point so this should be an interesting meeting!

As of now both meetings are tentative but I will be posting up in the next few days if there are any changes. Hope to see everyone there!

There will be a meeting this Tuesday (The 8th) in the IFS Lab starting at 5:30 (barring any complications).
We will be discussing upcoming meetings and hopefully be meeting some students from 1st and 2nd semester.

March 24 Meeting – Web Exploitation Kits Revealed

In this meeting we will talk about crimeware kits.
We will discuss how these web exploitation (crimeware) kits are designed, review their features, and investigate how they are deployed and used.
A live demonstration will be given using MPack, so we will isolate the network again.

Be sure to attend, and bring an image of an unpatched XP installation if you want to see the exploitation in action yourself.

Feb 17 Meeting – WEP Cracking

Feb 10 Meeting – Advanced Ettercap

In this meeting our members Vitaly, Lilian and Nick will demonstrate Ettercap and expend its capabilities with scripts. The demos include ARP poisoning, DNS spoofing, SSL/regular sniffing and Ettercap scripts.
Don’t forget your BackTrack CDs if you wish to follow through.

We will be in T4046 from 3:30 PM, presentation starts at 5:10.

Exclusive: I will be giving out copies of the brand spanking new BackTrack 4 !

WAR GAMES (part one)

We are planning a war games event for next week. Grab your BackTrack / nUbuntu or NST live CDs (which ever you like best) and get ready for some hacker fun. There will be a few Windows and Linux based servers running different services for you to test your skills. Difficulty will vary from ‘script-kiddie-easy’ to ‘damn-that’s-hard’. Even better, we will also setup an intrusion detection system (host based and/or network) so you can also gauge how easy your attacks are to detect. Again, we will ‘cut’ the link to the gateway so no malicious data leaves the room. We will route our own packets!

Jan 27 Meeting – Building IRC Bots

Yup, for this meeting I will show how IRC based bots are controlled, operated and built. Later we will write our own bots and attempt controlling them by sending our commands over irc.

To prepare for the meeting make sure you have PHP installed (for windows users try wamp).
